Self-Healing SmartPhones Screens are soon going to be a reality !

Whenever we purchase a SmartPhone, the first thing that we do is to buy a screen guard for protecting the screen of our smartphone from various kinds of scratches and damages that can occur cause of day to day work. We always try our best to protect our expensive gadgets from getting damaged either internally or externally and in the case of external damage broken screen stands apart.

We all have witnessed the pain of broken screen of our SmartPhone at least for once in our life and if you haven't witnessed this scenario yet then you are quite lucky my friend but I bet you must have seen one of your friend or a family member carrying a SmartPhone having a broken screen. It is no less than a nightmare for a smartphone user to have a phone with a grated or broken screen, but have you ever thought about not worrying every time your device crashes or get damaged due to some reason or other?

Although that reality is still a little distant and will take some time to get implemented completely, The Good news is that,Researchers from the University of California brought us a little closer to it: led by Chao-Wang, the team of scientists has developed a material capable of regenerating its structure, eliminating the effects of the rupture and scratches.

“We have done several tests with the material, even evaluating their ability to recover cuts and deep scratches. After breaking the piece in half, both sides have automatically joined 24 hours later,” says Chao-Wang.

According to Mr.Wang, the material is capable of extending its original size up to 50 times, being obtained from the union of flexible polymers and ionic compounds. Although all of this looks like magic the scientist explains that ion-dipole fusion (present in the composition of the invention), causes the separated molecules to attract and eliminate any cuts or scratches.

Well the description of the developed technology or the invented material sounds a little bit complex for a normal smartphone user but believe me once this technology becomes a reality we will be seeing number of smartphones manufacturers going to use this technology to create a smartphone that will have the capability of healing its screen automatically and not only in smartphone this material can also prove helpful for the development of other screen-oriented devices like a Tablet or a Laptop.
