Indian Government Launches "Desi" Antivirus For Computers and Mobile Phones .

Indian Government is blessing people of Country with lots and lots of good products these days. First, they launched payment-related apps like Bhim App in order to promote Cashless Transaction and after Bhim App, another payment platform is launched by them in Bharat QR code. Now Indian Government has taken a big step in order to ensure the security of people's online accounts and to strengthen the cyber security of citizens.


With the intention of promoting cybersecurity and ensuring the protection of people online, Our Indian Government has launched a malware analysis center called as the "Cyber Swacchta Kendra(CSK)" with a project cost of 90 crores that will be invested over the period of 5 years.

The Malware Analysis center has been launched by MEITY(Ministry of electronics and information technology) that will work within collaboration to various Internet Service Providers across the country, banks, industries and antivirus companies in order to develop highly advance tools that will help an individual to make their online as well as offline existence very secure. The Analysis center will also work to develop various powerful tools that will help to get rid of viruses if they are there in the computers or Mobile Phones and will also help in securing systems against Malware Attacks.

IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said at the launch of BotNet Cleaning and Malware Analysis Center that he would like Internet Service Providers to encourage their customer base to use these free antiviruses that the government is providing them and keep an eye on if there is any malware residing in their systems or mobile phones.

This has been a great step by Indian Government as the government is promoting Digital India and Cashless India like schemes so in order to ensure the proper functioning and security of online presence of users information powerful shield of cyber security is highly important.

Users will be able to download anti-virus or anti-malware tools to clean their devices and get rid of viruses and malware if they are there. The government launched dedicated tools like for USB protection they launched USB Pratirodh, M-Kavach for mobile security and AppSamvid which works on Windows computers and laptops and Browser JSGuard for web browsers.
  • USB Pratirodh will make sure that only authenticated users will be allowed to use removable storage media like pen drives, external hard drives, connecting mobile phones through USB cables and other USB supported mass storage devices. Works with Windows 7 and Windows 10.

  • M-Kavach has been developed with the intention of protecting a mobile phone from unwanted access and protect the mobile phones against any kind of malware attack. In addition to this, Users can also create a lock on various applications so an unauthorized person can not have access to them, unwanted and spam phone numbers can be blocked, It addresses threats related to misuse of resources such as WiFi, Bluetooth, Camera & Mobile Data by preventing unauthorized access to these resources. Also, provide the facility of wiping the phone data remotely and also provides the feature of tracking sim card changes in mobile in case of mobile has been lost or been stolen.Currently, it is available for Android phones only.

  • AppSamvid is a whitelisting software that will allow only the pre-approved files to be installed on the computer, right now it will only support window based laptops and computers.It can protect operating systems against Malware such as Virus and Trojans.

  • Browser JSGuard has been developed with an intention of protecting user's browser, as we know that attackers and hackers try to enter into the user's computer via browser by finding vulnerabilities in the browser and then they start controlling the system by giving instruction through browsers.They control browsers and make them redirect to malicious sites.Browser JSGuard detects and defends from such attacks made through the web browser. It blocks access to the harmful, inappropriate and dangerous websites that may contain malicious content. Available for Google Chrome and Mozilla FireFox.
