A Company named: “BillionAbles” has announced the launch of their app named after the company itself as "BillionAbles" on 8 July and their app is currently available for Android users on Play Store. This app has been launched in collaboration with the United Nations of Information Council for India and Bhutan.The Website was there for the usage but as we all know that these days everyone is far more comfortable in using mobile applications so the company decided to come up with their application as well.
The motivation for me, for writing this article about launching of an android app is the beauty behind the work of the Company, which you guys will like as well and will surely have a praise for them in your hearts.
The beauty of BillionAbles is its noble work, Billion Ables is India’s first crowd sourced inclusive online platform which is committed to introducing and empowering people with special needs to a more accessible world by providing information on accessible places, products, and services exclusive to them.
In India itself there are 100 million disabled peoples and other millions of people who are senior citizens or suffering from severe disorders and “BillionAbles” is the company(founded by Sameer Garg) that came up with this platform to help these peoples who needs easy accessible places, products and services, under one roof ranging from relationship, employment, accessibility, recreation & entertainment, assistive devices & technology, lifestyle, travel and a community for sharing their challenges, emotions and success stories.
More than 2000+ users are actively using the platform. The Website: BillionAbles is accessible in Delhi, Rajasthan and Goa and other parts of our country with verified listings of places and activities which are increasing on a daily basis.
Globally, there are many apps but in India, BillionAbles is the first one.
The website is working actively but in order to provide greater flexibility, the mobile app is launched which will present a search engine platform containing lists for special needs community.
BillionAbles app offers filter-based searches.People can look for places based on accessibility of ramps, lifts, elevators, step free access, braille and signage, sign language availability, gluten free food, eating aids, assistance available, large print, and more. The results are displayed as a list as well as in Map View.
Other features of BillionAbles app include the ability to increase or decrease the font size of text, change app’s contrast color, text-to-speech, and speech-to-text options. BillionAbles app comes with in-app navigation and quick calling features as well. Users can rate the app after using it, via rating/review feature. The app gives out reward points to users add listings and submit reviews. These points can be redeemed at selected accessible merchant outlets.
Well, this is an awesome initiative taken by the people at BillionAbles and I thought it's my duty to write something for them and to give you guys an overview regarding their unique website and app and one or two things about the noble work they are doing.
