Become a Beta Tester for Apps on Google Play Store!

Google PlayStore is one of the biggest playgrounds for publishing an app, if not the biggest. There are millions of apps on PlayStore that are available for installation on Android Devices. Most numbers of apps among these millions of apps keep on updating themselves on regular basis to provide a new feature or to update the existing one or to fix the bugs if exists. After the apps get updated, the developer or the developer team need someone to test the new version and report the bugs and issues to them before releasing it to the public if there exist any so when they release the app for the public there won't exist any such issues. These tests are carried out by beta testers. The Google Play Store gives you an option to help the developer by testing the pre-release version of the app by becoming a beta tester.

One of the main advantages of becoming a beta tester is that whatever the new updates come to an app, you will be the first one to have your hand on it, as most recently when the WhatsApp rolled back its old status feature it was first made available to the beta testers and then after getting the positive response from the testers the update was made public. So yes it is fun to get the update firsts and if you are able to find some kind of bugs then you can definitely raise your voice to the developers of the apps and if they find it correct who knows that you might get some reward on its behalf as well.

In this article of mine, I am going to tell the steps to become a Beta Tester on Google's PlayStore, I hope that most of you are already knowing this thing but still who don't know this can get benefitted from this article. All the apps do not come with a beta version and for only those apps that come first with a beta version, you can become a beta tester.

• The first step is to open the PlayStore on your Android Device and then search for the app for which you want to become a tester.


• Scroll down and if the application allows users to become a beta tester, you will see a card or a dialog box saying Become A Beta Tester.





• Here you need to click on I'M IN and if you want to know more about this beta tester program then click on LEARN MORE. Now anther pop up message will appear where you need to confirm the action. Just click on Join.






• Once you have joined by clicking on the JOIN, you will see the following message as Beta Signup in Progress which will get changed to You’re a beta tester in some time.Congratulation you are now a Beta Tester.


• In order to see the apps for which you are a beta tester, you need to navigate to the My apps and games and there you can see a new tab called BETA, by clicking on it you will be seeing the apps for which you have joined the beta testing program.

Steps to leave Beta Testing Program:

• First of all, Select the App from the BETA list in My Apps & Games Section and scroll down. You will see a card saying You are Beta Tester.


• Here you will be seeing an option saying Leave, just tap on it.


• Once you tapped on the Leave Option, a pop-up window will come up in order to confirm that you want to leave the program and you no longer want to be a beta tester.








• Just tap on the Leave again and now you will leave the beta tester program. After leaving the beta tester program completely, you can re-install the app as a normal user.
