When you start writing a blog or even if you have been blogging for a while, rather than doing only the normal functionalities in your blog, you would definitely love to see some extra and lovable features in your blog or websites, these features can be added to your blog or website by using Plugins.
Plugin can be defined as an extra piece of code or module that have been developed by some other developer or team of developers and made it available over the web for others to use. Plugin can either be free or they charge very less.
Whenever we design a blog or develop a website the first thing that come to our mind that our blog should be visible in the search engine search and our blog should be shared all over the web mainly on social network giants like Facebook or Google+, so in order to achieve these things we have Plugins, and whatever the plugins available over there have the following characteristics :
- They do and deliver what they promise to do.
- They’re lightweight components – meaning they don’t take up lots of resources on your servers and slow down your website as they are meant to extend the services not to halt already existing ones.
- Each n every plugin is independent of other , so they work comfortably with other plugin and there will hardly be any conflict with other working plugins.
Here I am Listing down the plugins that i have personally used while working with WordPress :
1 ) Mail Chimp :
MailChimp for WordPress helps you add more subscribers to your MailChimp lists using various methods. You can create good looking opt-in forms or integrate with any other form on your site, like your comment, contact or checkout form. MailChimp is a newsletter service that allows you to send out email campaigns to a list of email subscribers. MailChimp is free for lists up to 2000 subscribers, which is why it is the newsletter-service of choice for thousands of businesses. MailChimp Wordpress Plugin act as a bridge between an individuals MailChimp's account and the website.
2 ) Contact Form 7:
Whenever we decide to set up a blog or website the first thing that comes to out mind is that how can i provide an interface to user so that they cant contact me and ask me if they have any query or something. For this purpose WordPress has a plugin called as Contact Form 7 , that allows the blogger or the developer to set up a contact form in the blog. Contact Form 7 can manage multiple contact forms, plus you can customize the form and the mail contents flexibly with simple markup. The form supports Ajax-powered submitting, CAPTCHA, Akismet spam filtering and so on.
3) WORDPRESS SEO – “YOAST” :
Undoubtedly, WordPress SEO is the industry standard for SEO plugins. In order to make your blog visible in the search engine the first thing that Crawler needs is keyword this plugin helps an individual in setting up the prominent and efficient keywords related to the contents of blog and make it very easy for the blogger or developer to perform SEO operation on their blogs . If your blog contains images, then this plugin will automatically add 'alt' attribute in the images that make it easier for the crawler to crawl your images.
With the Yoast SEO plugin you can control which pages Google shows in its search results and which pages it doesn't show. By default, it will tell search engines to index all of your pages, including category and tag archives, but to only show the first pages in the search results.
4 ) Visual Form Builder :
Although there are many form builders plugins available in WordPress , I found Visual Form Builder very easy to use and implement, If you want to add registration form etc. in your blog or website then you can surely use this plugin efficiently. Visual Form Builder is a plugin that allows you to build and manage all kinds of forms for your website in a single place.
5) Really Simple Share :
This plugin shows Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google “+1”, Pinterest and other popular social share buttons above or below your posts. Easy customization of active buttons and position in the Settings menu.
That's all guys in this article of mine , will keep on updating you guys as i will keep on using more plugins as i have started using WordPress recently ,I am also getting used to the environment and the interface of it and the list of available plugins, so whatever I have discovered till date i have shared with you guys .
